There was always music on.
Charlie grew up in upstate New York, toggling between classical piano lessons and skateboarding. College took him to a small school in Illinois, where he met a few friends and started the band Jars of Clay. Band life took them around the world touring for 20 years, selling platinum records and winning 3 Grammys. He is now off the road, and finds himself doing a number of diverse music projects.
